My dressing stone was on back order for almost a year so I was happy when it finally arrived and I was able to get my wheel dressed enough that I can finally use it. If I had it to over, I would not buy the slow speed grinder but would probably buy a Work Sharp.

Most of us would rather spend than money on better tools, etc. Using a slower grinder, your tools will last a long time. Your grind doesn't have to be perfect to achieve a good turning.

Some general observations though, my glass grinder (a Diamond Max) has a bonded diamond grinding head, whereas most bench grinders are various types of stone, carbide, etc. The diamond bits don't seem to generate much heat, but my bench grinder sure does.
